- What it does
- The purpose of LPHSWE is to provide training and education, faculty development, and curriculum enhancement to prepare students for leadership roles in public health social work through enrollment in a dual master’s degree program in both social work (i.e. Master’s in Social Work) and public health (i.e. Master’s in Public Health).
- Who benefits
- A student receiving a stipend in the LPHSWE Program must be a citizen of the United States, a non-citizen national of the United States, or a foreign national who possesses a visa permitting permanent residence in the United States. Individuals on temporary or student visa are not eligible participants.
- Who applies
- Eligible applicants include accredited schools of social work/programs that 1) offer a dual master’s degree in an accredited graduate program in social work with a macro-level concentration in management and administration and in an accredited graduate program in public health; and 2) previously received HRSA support for dual degree enrollment, education, and graduation in the Leadership in Public Health Social Work Education program. Eligible applicants include accredited schools of social work/programs that 1) offer a dual master’s degree in an accredited graduate program in social work with a macro-level concentration in management and administration and in an accredited graduate program in public health; and 2) previously received HRSA support for dual degree enrollment, education, and graduation in the Leadership in Public Health Social Work Education program. Federally Recognized Indian Tribal Government and Native American Organizations may apply if they are otherwise eligible.
