- To assist in meeting the educational needs of individuals affected by a covered disaster or emergency (as defined by the applicable Disaster Recovery statute, which prescribes a list of Presidentially declared major disasters or emergencies that provide eligibility for assistance under any particular Disaster Recovery appropriation).
- Who benefits
- State educational agencies, local educational agencies, postsecondary institutions and students in areas affected by a covered disaster or emergency will benefit.
- Who applies
- State educational agencies (SEAs) and institutions of higher education (IHEs) in areas affected by a covered disaster or emergency, or which enroll students displaced from an area affected by a covered disaster or emergency. Local educational agencies (LEAs) and public and non-public schools in affected areas are subgrantees.
