- What it does
- The purpose of SS4A grants is to improve roadway safety by significantly reducing or eliminating roadway fatalities and serious injuries involving various users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, public transportation users, motorists, personal conveyance and micromobility users, and commercial vehicle operators.

- Eligible funding recipients include: Metropolitan Planning Organizations; political subdivisions of a State (e.g., city, county, town, state university, etc..); Federally recognized Tribal governments; and multijurisdictional groups of entities comprised of the above. Local governments are eligible funding recipients, but State-designated Indian Tribes are not eligible funding recipients.
