Ourstory: Making History Relevant for New Generations [ourstory: Making History Relevant for New Generations Is a Cross-organizational, Capacity-building Project to Strengthen and Interpret Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC) and National Underground Railroad Freedom Center (nurfc)'s Rich History Collections, Which Together Number More Than 1.42 Million Items. This Collaborative Project, Which Comes at a Critical Moment for Both Organizations, Will Support Collections Management and Exhibition Development. Funding Will Sustain the Ongoing Activities of Current CMC and Nurfc Staff Who Preserve, Interpret and Share Both Museums' History Collections. the Project Will Also Support the Hiring of Three New Positions, CMC'S Curator of Historical Objects and Nurfc's Curator and Manager of Exhibit Development''who Will Play Critical Roles in the Preservation of Historical Collections and Development of Permanent Exhibitions That Share and Contextualize History for the Public.] [purpose:'the Purpose of This Grant Is to Support the Cincinnati Museum Center as They Improve Their Collections Management and Exhibition Development Capacity Across Multiple Institutions.  Activities to Be Performed: this Grant Funds curatorial and Collections positions to Sustain the Ongoing Activities of Museum Staff Who Interpret Museum Collections and Create Public and Educational Programming. in Addition, Staff Will Increase Their Efforts in Preserving historical Collections and Developing Permanent Exhibitions on regional and National History.   Expected Outcomes:'this Grant would Sustain Current Museum Initiatives While Also Funding the Staff to Plan for Important Humanities Collaborations in the Future.  Intended Beneficiaries: the Project Will Benefit local and National Museum Visitors as Well as Remote Researchers and Patrons to the Cincinnati Museum Center Online.  Subrecipient Activities:'the Recipient Does Not Intend to Sub-award Funds.]
