Application Purpose: Purpose: the City of Wausau Requests $1104262 of Fy 2021 Section 5307 Operating Assistance for the Wausau Area Transit System D.b.a. Metro Ride for Calendar Year 2021. Funding Will Cover Operating Expenses Incurred From January 1 2021 Through December 31 2021. the Project Was Included in the Table 1 Project a of the 2021-2024 Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) for the Wausau Metropolitan Area. the Local Share of This Project Is $1775110 and It Will Be Funded by City of Wausau Property Tax Revenues. the State of Wisconsin Share of This Project Is $786191.; Activities Performed: the City of Wausau Requests $473900 of Section 5339(A) Bus and Bus Facilities Formula Funds (ffy 2019: $323829 /ffy 2020: $150071) for the Wausau Area Transit System D.b.a. Metro Ride. Funding Will Cover 80% of the Cost of Replacing Fare Collection Equipment in Calendar Year 2022. the Project Was Included in Table 1 Project B of the 2021-2024 Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) for the Wausau Metropolitan Area. the Local Share for This Project in the Amount of $118475 Will Be Funded by the City of Wausau via Property Tax Revenues. the Useful Life of the Equipment Will Be 10 Years. the City of Wausau Requests $35340 of Ffy 2020 Section 5339(A) Bus and Bus Facilities Formula Grant for the Wausau Area Transit System D.b.a. Metro Ride. Funding Will Cover 80% of the Cost of a Service Truck in Calendar Year 2022. the Project Was Included in Table 1 Project C of the 2021-2024 Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) for the Wausau Metropolitan Area. the Local Share for This Project in the Amount of $8835 Will Be Funded by the City of Wausau via Property Tax Revenues. the Useful Life of the Equipment.activities to Be Performed: Operating Assistance Funds Public Transit Services Including Fixed-route Bus and Complimentary Ada Paratransit Within the Municipal Boundaries of the City of Wausau. the Aging and Obsolete Fare Collection System Will Be Overhauled and Replaced in 2022. One Service Truck Will Be Replaced in 2022. Will Be 5 Years.; Expected Outcomes: Expected Outcomes: Metroride Will Continue to Be Able to Provide Accessible and Affordable Transit Service in 2021 Throughout the City of Wausau Wisconsin. the New Farebox System Will Modernize the Collection of Passenger Fares and Make It Easier Passengers to Use Transit Services. the New Service Truck Will Be Used to Provide Timely and Reliable Maintenance Support for Transit Services.; Intended Beneficiaries: Intended Beneficiaries: Citizens in the Wausau Area Will Benefit From the Availability of Accessible and Affordable Transportation Options in Calendar Year 2021 and Beyond.
