Application Purpose: the Purpose of This Grant Is to Purchase Approximately Five (5) Heavy-duty Battery-electric Trolley Buses and Five (5) Onboard Digital HD Surveillance Systems for the Five Buses Being Purchased.; Activities Performed: Provide Funding for the Purchase of Approximately Five (5) Heavy-duty Battery-electric Trolley Buses.; Expected Outcomes: Valley Transit Will Continue to Progress Toward the Federal State and Local Goals for Lower Emissions Through This Transition From Carbon-fueled Vehicles to Battery Electric.; Intended Beneficiaries: the Entire Population of Walla Walla and College Place Will Have the Most Direct Benefit Through Reduced Emissions and Lower Noise Pollution When Compared to Carbon Fuels Vehicles Currently in Service. Valley Transits Clients Especially Clients With Respiratory Illnesses Will Also Have a Direct Benefit From the New Quieter and Lower Emissions Vehicles. the Buses That This Project Will Be Replacing Have Exceeded Their Estimated Useful Lives and Have Been Increasingly Difficult to Maintain in an Adequate State of Good Repair This Project Will Ensure That Valley Transit Can Continue to Provide Safe Transportation by Removing These Older Vehicles and Replacing Them With New Vehicles.; Subrecipient Activities: None
