Funds Will Be Used to Pay for Capital Investment Costs That Support the Rehabilitation of the M/V Solano. the Kitsap Transit Passenger Only Ferry Will Provide Cross-sound Fast Ferry Service Connections Between Kitsap County and King County Wa.purpose: the Purpose of This Award Is to Support the Rehabilitation of the M/V Solano. Activities to Be Performed: Funds Will Be Used for Capital Maintenance to Replace and Upgrade the Vessel Propulsion System and Overhaul Structural Mechanical Electrical Auxiliary Systems and Other Components of the M/V Solano. Expected Outcomes: Funding Will Provide Capital Maintenance to Extend the Vessel Useful Life to 12 Years and Useful Life of the Propulsion System to 7 Years. the Overhaul Will Increase Kitsap Transit Fast Ferry Service Reliability Through the Ownership of a Second Vessel That Otherwise Would Be Leased. Intended Beneficiaries: Kitsap Transit and the Riders That Rely on Its Service Will Benefit From Continued Fast Ferry Services Permitting Workers to Get to Work and Riders to Get to Essential Services. Kitsap Transits Fast Ferries Promote Transit Services and Improve Rider Safety by Reducing Single Occupancy Vehicles (SOVS) on the Road. Subrecipient Activities: None
