Despite Success, Challenges Remain, Including Language Barriers, Financial Constraints, and High Turnover Among Pool Operators.the Aquatic Safety Enhancement Project Targets These Challenges With Focused Enforcement and Education Programs to Protect Vulnerable Groups From Drowning and Entrapment in Pools and Spas, Leveraging CPSC Pool Safely RESOURCES.1. Enforcement:o Align Enforcement Policies With the Virginia Graeme Baker (VGB) Act.o Conduct Joint Regulatory Aquatic Inspections.o Improve Inspection Form Accuracy.o Train Staff Using CPSC MATERIALS.2. Education:o Deliver a 60- to 90-MINUTE Pool Safety Course for Facilities Without Lifeguards.o Update the Pool Operator Class to Include VGB Standards in English and Spanish.o Host Quarterly Community Forums and Annual Drowning Prevention Workshops.o Use the CPSC Pool Safely Collaborator Toolkit for Educational Materials.o Facilitate Onsite Swim Lessons in High-need Communities.the Project Addresses Language Barriers, Temporary Housing, and Limited Resources in Rural and Low-income Areas.
