Brief Overview: Emory Nursings Mobile Opportunities for Training and Innovating: Nursing (emory in Motion) Project Will Work in Concert With the Legislative Purpose Authorized by Sections 831 of the Public Health Service Act to Strengthen the Capacity for Nursing Education, Practice, and Retention in Georgia, a State With Well Documented Inequities in Access to Care. Informed by Its Disparity Impact Statement, Emory in Motion Will Leverage Emory Nursings Existing Partnerships With Health Care Organizations in Community Settings to Deliver Care to Vulnerable Communities Medically Underserved in Primary Care. It Will Develop Mobile Health Units That Are Not Only Nurse-led But Also Increase Access, Scope, and Quality of Healthcare. as the Mobile Health Units Are Launched, Diverse Cohorts of Pre-licensure and Aprn Nursing Students Taught by a Diverse Nursing Faculty Will Complete Longitudinal And/or Immersive Experiential Learning Providing Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Patient Care. Additionally, Trainees Will Engage in Other Learning Activities to Demonstrate Competencies for Addressing Social Determinants of Health. Emory in Motion Has the Following Specific Objectives: 1. Enhance Mobile Health Unit Efforts With 5 Existing Partners to Provide Nurse-led, Quality Health Care to Underserved Communities. 2. Offer a Longitudinal And/or Immersive Clinical Experiential Platform for 28 Pre-licensure and 12 Advanced Practice Nursing Students. 3. Expand Access to Mobile Health Care Services in 9 Georgia Counties With Medically U Nderserved Areas or Populations and Increase the # of Patients Served by 20% Using Appropriate Cultural Linguistic and Health Literacy Approaches With Innovative Technology Solutions. 4. Enhance Emory Nursings Training Curriculum for 3 Programs (BSN, Agpcnp, FNP) to Integrate Sdoh Concepts, Strengthening the Educational Foundation for Addressing and Improving Patient Health Outcomes. 5. Implement 5 Web-based Professional Development Modules Related to Social Determinants, Developed by Diverse Nursing Faculty and Shared With Faculty, Preceptors, and Ga RNS Through Emory Nursings Continuing Education Platform. 6. Recruit and Develop a Diverse Nursing Workforce (minimum of 70% of Trainees From Urm Backgrounds) That Addresses Needs of Vulnerable Populations in Underserved Communities Reached Through the Farmworker Mobile Health Training Team and the Metro Communities Mobile Health Training Team. Clinical Priorities: Environment, Immigration, and Substance Use Disorder. Methods: the Project Team Will Lead an Extensive Group of Focused Activities to Achieve Project Aims With the Ultimate Goal of Providing Mobile Health Training That Increases and Strengthens the Diversity, Education, and Training of Nursing Students to Deliver Culturally Aligned Quality Care in Underserved Communities to Vulnerable Populations to Increase Their Access to Care. Integration of Sdoh Into Emory Nursings Training Curriculum for Both Pre-licensure and Advanced Practice Nursing Students, Along With Development of Sdoh-focused Learning Modules Will Support Sustainable, Enduring Programming at Emory Nursing and the Underserved Communities Served by Emory in Motion Partners. a Robust Plan for Formative and Summative Evaluation, Framed by the Disparity Impact Statement, Will Be Implemented.
