Application Purpose: This Application Is to Obligate $900000 in Discretionary Funding Awarded to Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (capmetro) Through the Fiscal Year 2022 Pilot Program for Transit-oriented Development (TOD) Planning (section 20005(B)).; Activities Performed: Capmetro Will Receive Fta Financial Assistance to Plan for Tod at the North Lamar Transit Center (NLTC) a Site Along the Proposed Orange and Blue Light Rail Lines. the NLTC Is an Existing Transit Center Adjacent to the Future LRT Terminus Station. It Is Also Within an Area of Persistent Poverty With Accessibility Connectivity and Safety Challenges. NLTC Is a Prime Tod Candidate to Combine Multimodal Transit Needs While Providing Key Amenities Services and Potential Housing to the Community.activities May Include But Are Not Limited to Conducting Real Estate Market and Operations Feasibility Studies and Conceptual 5% Design for the Tod Pilot Site. This Project Will Leverage the Existing Etod Strategy Framework in Collaboration With Austin Transit Partnership and the City of Austin. ; Expected Outcomes: the Study Will Enhance Economic and Community Development by Creating Transit-supportive Mixed-use Development That Increases Housing Choices Affordable Housing Options and Community-building Infrastructure That Centers Equity and Access. the Sites Aim to Maximize Community Benefit by Using Tools Created by the Equitable Etod Study. the Transition From Transit Facility Into Active Tods Will Enable Mixed-use Development by Providing Much-needed Amenities to the Neighborhood. This Will Likely Lead to Public-private Partnerships That Maximize the Development Potential of the Sites Especially Through Affordable Housing. the Study Will Identify Infrastructure Needs at the Sites and Prioritize Multimodal Connectivity by Combining Transit With Pedestrian and Bicycle Access at the Future Mobility Hubs.; Intended Beneficiaries: the Intended Beneficiaries Include Capmetro the Riders of Capmetro Service and Region.; Subrecipient Activities: There Are No Subrecipient Activities Associated With This Award.
