Application Purpose: This Application Requests $5743107 in Bus and Bus Facilities Formula (section 5339(A)) Funds Apportioned for the Austin Urbanized Area in Fiscal Years 2020 and 2021. Fy 2020 Funds Are Lapsing Funds.; Activities Performed: Capmetro Will Purchase 7 New Buses to Replace Buses Used in Fixed-route Service That Have Exceeded Their Minimum Useful Life. the New Buses Are Forty-foot Battery-electric Buses With Per-unit Costs Between $1009435 and $1058252 Each Depending on the Final Configuration. the Buses Will Be Acquired in the Large Heavy-duty Category With a Minimum Useful Life of at Least 12 Years or an Accumulation of at Least 500000 Miles. They Will Be Acquired Through Two Existing Contracts.; Expected Outcomes: the Buses That Will Be Replaced Are Diesel Buses That Have All Exceeded Their Minimum Useful Life in Terms of Age and Mileage. the Replacement Buses Will Be Battery-electric Buses. These Zero-emission Buses Make for Cleaner Air and Provide a Quieter Ride (both Inside the Bus and Outside).; Intended Beneficiaries: the Intended Beneficiaries of This Project Are Central Texans. Capmetro Has Committed to Exclusively Purchasing Zero-emission Electric Vehicles to Move Central Texans in a Truly Sustainable Manner. Capmetro Operates on a 10-YEAR Fleet Replacement Schedule With the Goal of Ensuring That Its Revenue Vehicle Fleet Is Maintained in a State of Good Repair and Operates Efficiently for Those That Depend on Its Services.; Subrecipient Activities: There Are No Subrecipients.
