Application Purpose: the Purpose of This Award Is to Fund Updates at Up to 336 Stops Which Will Include Upgrades to Ada-compliance Installation of Shelters Solar Stop Lighting Benches Trash Receptacles and Digital Signage Throughout Greenlinks Service Area.; Activities Performed: This Application Is for Funding to Cover Costs Associated With Amenities and Labor to Install Ada-compliant Pads at Up to 336 Bus Stops. Upgrades Include Installation of Shelters Solar Stop Lighting Benches Trash Receptacles and Digital Signage Throughout Greenlinks Service Area.; Expected Outcomes: the Primary Purpose of This Project Is to Protect Non-motorized Travelers and Communities From the Safety Risks Associated With Traveling to and From Stops as Well as Waiting at Stops. Though Work Is Underway to Address the Comfort and Quality of Bus Stops This Project Will Gta to Fully Address This Area of Concern. Investing in Quality Infrastructure Greatly Reduces the Potential for Serious Injury or Fatality for Pedestrians Especially Those Who Must Walk to and From Bus Stops. the Bus Stop Infrastructure Improvement Project Will Serve to Increase Safety for Pedestrians Waiting at the Bus Stop as Proposed Improvements Include a Lighting Component. Both the Proposed Led-lit Seating and Shelter Include Led Lighting to Illuminate the Pedestrian Waiting Area. Moreover Greenlink Serves a Subsection of the Population in Greenville That Truly Relies on Public Transit for Mobility and Connectivity Which in Turn Directly Affects Quality of Life and Environmental Sustainability. in Fact a Study of Bus Stop Improvements in Salt Lake City Showed a 5.9% Increase in Boardings After Improvements Were Madecompared to Only a 1.7% Overall Increase in Boardings at Stops in a Control Group That Were Not Improved (appendix 3: Other Salt). Investment in Better Bus Stop Infrastructure Throughout Greenlinks Service Area Is a Worthwhile Venture With Positive Impacts. Greater Mobility Translates Into Better Quality of Life and This Project Ensures Greater Mobility and Connectivity for All Riders.
