Application Purpose: the Purpose of This Award Is to Fund Construction Expenses Related to the New Operations and Maintenance Facility Currently Under Construction at 205 Arcadia DR.; Activities Performed: This Application Is for Funding to Cover Costs Associated With Construction of the New Operations and Maintenance Facility.; Expected Outcomes: Funding Will Permit Gta to Continue Its Efforts to Fully Fund Construction of Its New Operations and Maintenance Facility So That Gta Can Continue to Provide Current Levels of Public Transit Service and to Expand Its Services Over the Course of the Next Several Years as Outlined in Its 2018 Transit Development Plan and 2021 Update to the Transit Development Plan. in Fact Gtas Existing Transit Maintenance Facility Located at 154 Augusta Street Has Exceeded Its Useful Life and Cannot in Its Current State Continue to Sustain Gtas Bus Maintenance and Operations in the Long-term. a New Maintenance Facility Is Needed Before Greenlink Can Add New Routes Increase Service Frequencies or Expand to New Geographic Areas in Greenville County. While the Construction Process Will Create Nearly 800 Short-term Jobs Setting Greenlink in a Position for Future Transit Service Improvements Will Provide the Agency With the Long-term Capacity to Quadruple Its Direct Workforce and Provide Transportation Services to Reach 73 Percent of All Jobs in Greenville County.; Intended Beneficiaries: Gta and the Riders That Rely on Its Service Will Benefit From Continued and Expanded Services Permitting Individuals to Get to Work Healthcare Grocery Stores and Other Destinations. Furthermore It Is Expected That Ridership Will Increase as Gta Is Able to Provide Expanded Service via Later Hours Increased Frequencies and Additional Routes Resulting in Additional Beneficiaries Beyond That of Current Riders.; Subrecipient Activities: None.
