Application Purpose: the Purpose of This Grant Is to Obligate $5622000 in Fhwa Flex Funds to Supplement Tiger and 5307 Funds in Grant RI-2019-001 for Construction of the Pawtucket/central Falls Commuter Rail Station. Flex Fund Obligations:cmaq FY21 Funds: $4480000CMAQ FY22 Funds: $402000STBG FY22 Funds: $740000; Activities Performed: These Cmaq Funds Will Be Used for Track and Catenary Construction. the Track Budget Is Forecasted to Be Allocated to a.) Amtrak Performing the Relocation of Both the Existing Mainline Tracks and B.) Amtrak and Our Contractor Constructing a New Freight Track to Make Room for the Platform and Then Removing the Existing Freight Track. This Work Is Consistent With the Original Project Scope. the Budget Funds Materials and Labor. Catenary Work With the Exception of Pole Foundations Will Be Completed by Amtrak. This Work Includes:installation of 5 New Steel Portals With All the Necessary Drop Tubes Cantilever Arms and Assembliesinstallation of Insulted 25KV Cable Through Platform Area With Its Support Cables.installation of New Counter Weight System With Support Cablesadjust Messenger and Trolley Wire and Check Profile as Requiredremove Old Steel Catenary Poles Portals and Assembly Armsnew Material for Catenary Per Design Requirements the Total Project Budget Increases From $45332376 to $53106203 and Is Broken Down as Follows:tiger Discretionary Grant (RI-2019-001) $13100000 5307 Formula Funds (RI-2019-001-01) $18000000STATE Funds (RI-2019-001) $9702376LOCAL Funds (RI-2019-001) $4530000 Cmaq Funds (1878-2021-1) $5622000ADDITIONAL Local Funds $2151827TOTAL Project Cost: $53106203THIS Project Is Included in the Current Rhode Island Stip.from the Primary Grant RI-2019-001:THE Pawtucket/central Falls Commuter Rail Station Consists of a New Passenger Rail Station on Amtraks Northeast Corridor and the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authoritys (MBTAS) Providence Commuter Rail Line to Be Constructed Using the Design/build Procurement Method. the Station Includes Northbound and Southbound Platforms a Pedestrian Bridge Overpass Ramps Elevators and Stairs. the Project Also Creates a New Intermodal Connection Between Mbta Commuter Rail and Local Bus Services. This New Passenger Rail Station Will Allow for the Reintroduction of Passenger Rail Service to Pawtucket and Neighboring Central Falls and Is Needed to Enhance Local Mobility for Residents of These Communities Increase Access to Regional Jobs and Activity Centers and Support Desired Local Planning Goals and Economic Development.; Expected Outcomes: This Additional Funding Is Expected to Ensure the Completion of the Construction Project.; Intended Beneficiaries: With the Completion of the New Commuter Rail Station Some Existing Riders Will Receive More Convenient Access to Public Transit and New Riders Will Benefit From the New Station.; Subrecipient Activities: Some of the Activities Performed in This Grant Will Be Undertaken by Amtraks Force Account Labor.
