Advancing Native Mass Spectrometry Analysis With Easier, Faster and More Accurate Intact Mass Deconvolution for Proteins and Nucleic Acids - Project Summary / Abstract This Research Proposal Aims to Advance the Field of Native Mass Spectrometry (MS) Analysis by Developing an Innovative Intact Mass Deconvolution Method Designed to Significantly Improve the Speed, Accuracy, and User- Friendliness of Proteins and Nucleic Acid Molecular Weight Determination. Despite the Pivotal Role of MS in Pharmaceutical Research and Biopharmaceutical Applications, Existing Challenges Such as Data Artifacts, Slow Processing Speeds, and the Complexity of Spectral Analysis Tools Hinder Its Full Potential. Our Project Is Organized Into Three Primary Aims: 1) to Implement Enhanced Deconvolution Techniques That Reduce Artifacts and Optimize Processing Speed Without Sacrificing Accuracy; 2) to Automate Spectrum Reconstruction for Efficient Handling of Diverse Analytical Needs; and 3) to Conduct a Comprehensive Performance Evaluation of Our Method Against Current Leading Technologies. Through These Efforts, We Anticipate Addressing Critical Gaps in MS Analysis and Facilitating Deeper Insights Into the Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Health and Disease. the Outcome of This Research Promises to Redefine the Capabilities of Mass Spectrometry in Modern Biomedical Research, Offering a Powerful Tool for the Scientific Community to Unravel the Complexities of Biological Molecules.
