Fremont Madison Irrigation District

Award Purpose: the Award Will Allow the Fremont-madison Irrigation District to Retrofit 5 Existing Water Control Structures to Be Able to More Efficiently Deliver Water to Roughly 10,000 Acres of Irrigated Cropland. the Award Will Also Improve Habitat Conditions for Fish and Wildlife in the Area. Activities to Be Performed: the Fremont-madison Irrigation District Will Automate 5 Water Control Structures and Install Remote Operation and Data Collection Equipment at Each Identified Site. the District Will Also Install Flow Measurement Devices at 5 Locations on the Trail Creek Pipeline Deliverysystems. Expected Deliverables or Outcomes: This Project Will Help Manage Water Deliveries More Efficiently for Roughly 10,000 Acres of Irrigated Cropland, Bolster Partnerships, and Promote Conservation Among Water Users Within the Districts Service Area.intended Beneficiaries: the Intended Beneficiaries Include the Water Users Within the Districts Service Area. Specifically, the Project Will Increase Water Reliability for an Irrigated Agriculture Economy That Averages Over 300 Million Dollars in Crop Sales in Teton, Fremont and Madison Counties Each Year. in Addition, This Project Will Result in More Constant Releases From the Reservoir and Thereby Improve Theconditions for Fish and Wildlife Including the Yellowstone Cutthroat Troutsubrecipient Activities (if Known or Specified at Time of Award): Not Applicable.
