Purpose: the Fallon Paiute Shoshone Tribes Tribal Domestic Water Supply Project: Enhancing Community Water Infrastructure Plan and Design for the Reservation and Indian Colonys Domestic Water Distribution and Treatment System Proposes Numerous Upgrades and Additions to Increase System Reliability, Provide for Conservation, and to Address Capacity Issues. Recommended Operating Capacity Is Below 80%. the Tribe Intends to Increase Water Treatment Capability to Properly Meet Demands and Ensure System Reliability by Adding a Second Unit and Microfiltration System. There Is a Need to Address the Adequacy of Water Delivery Through the Existing Pipes Within the System That Do Not Meet American Water Works Association (AWWA) Standards for Delivery of Potable Water to Residents Within the Approximate 13 Miles of Distribution Pipeline. a Plan to Review Non-standard Pipes to Determine a Comprehensive Approach for Replacement to Meet Water Pressure and End User Needs to Ensure Adequate and Safe Delivery of Potable Water Would Provide Long Term Benefits to the Reservation and Colony. Activities to Be Performed: Produce a Plan and Design Through an Architectural and Engineering Firm to Address the Following Project Tasks:design the Domestic Water Distribution Mainline to Satisfy Service Capacity That Includes, But Not Limited to Service Connections and Maintenance Bypass Valves. the Design Will Cover at Least 13 Miles of Pipeline, Starting at the FPST Water Treatment Facility.installation of 375 Water Meters on Residential and Community Facilities. Meter Replacements Will Include New Meter Vaults Such as Fiberlyte Meter Pits or Equivalent. Data Acquired From Water Meters Will Enhance Water Delivery and Provide Updated Data for Use in Operation and Maintenance of Domestic Water Distribution Facilities. Design to Replace the 224 Degraded Valves Through the Distribution System. the Plan Is to Include Removal of Existing Asphalt, Installation of Valves, and Replacement of Asphalt for Utility and Roadway Completion. a Traffic Control Plan Will Be Included. Design of Upgrades and Expansion of the Water Treatment Plant, Including Equipment Upgrades to Increase the Treatment Capacity and Existing Utility Integration.design for an Additional Domestic Water Storage and Associated Booster Pump(s) for Adequate Water Supply and Pressure Throughout the Domestic Water Delivery System to Meet Epa Safe Drinking Water Standards.deliverables and Expected Outcomes: the Tribe Anticipates That Upgrading and Addressing Key Areas of Its Aging Water Delivery System Will Enhance Access to Reliable and Safe Drinking Water for Decades to Come for Residents Within the Colony and the Reservation. It Will Enhance the Reliability of Its Domestic Water Supply by Decreasing the Potential for Water Delivery Interruption and Will Increase the Tribes Ability to Deliver Safe Drinking Water. Proposed Key Projects Will Help Conserve Water by Tracking Water Use and Detecting Leaks in the Water Delivery System That Impact the Tribes Ability to Reliably Deliver Safe Drinking Water.repairing the Inherent Problems of the Primary Delivery Control Vault and Its Apparatuses Is Critical in Ensuring the Community Living on the Reservation Will Continue to Have a Safe and Reliable Supply of Domestic Water. Resolving Pressure Issues Will Enhance the Delivery of Water to Residents Through an Increased Ability to Regulate Water Pressure as It Moves Through the System.
