This Project Will Support the Jsrip Through:common Carp Fish Research, Monitoring, and Control on Utah Lakeevaluating and Implementing a Strategy in an Effort to Control the Population of Northern Pike in Utah Lakeutah Lake June Sucker Habitat Restorationcontinuing the Effort to Remove or Rebuild Diversion Dams in Hobble Creekinvestigating Alternative Water Supplies to Replace Temporary Waterdeveloping a June Sucker Monitoring Planincreasing Outreach Efforts to Include Partners and Education Effortscontinuing Captive Rearing and Augmentation Efforts to Aid in the Recovery of the Endangered June Sucker. the Goals of This Project Are to Remove and Dispose of Common Carp From Utah Lake, Reduce Northern Pike Predation of June Sucker, Improve the Fish Passage in Hobble Creek, Improve the June Sucker Habitats in Utah Lake, Replace the Temporary Water to Provide Additional Water to the Provo River and Utah Lake, Better Monitor June Sucker Populations, Improve Outreach Efforts, and Continue Captive Rearing and Augmentation. the Carp Removal Activities to Be Funded Through This Action Include the Following Methods: Seines (beach Seines, Purse Seines, or Other Nets Hauled Through the Water) Trawls Traps (hoop Nets, Fyke Nets, Pond Nets) the List Is Not Meant to Be Inclusive and the Development of Other Methods of Removal Is Possible. Those Conducting the Removal Will Be Required to Obtain a Certificate of Registration From the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. This Process Requires Approval of the Proposed Removal Techniques.
