The Recipient Has Been a Source for Avian Expertise in the Middle Rio Grande Bosque for Multiple Government Entities, Including the U.s. Army Corps of Engineers (usace), the U.s. Fish and Wildlife Service (usfws), the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District, the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish, the Pueblo of Sandia, the City of Albuquerque, the City of Rio Rancho, and the Village of Corrales. They Have Provided Avian Expertise as Part of the Middle Rio Grande Conservation Action Plan (mrg-cap). Mrg-cap Involves a Consortium of Organizations, Including Government Agencies, Universities, and Ngos That Have Worked to Develop a Conservation Action Plan for Sustainable Stewardship and Enhancement of the Natural Habitats of the Middle Rio Grande Corridor in the Context of the Complex Agricultural and Urban Setting of This River Landscape. the Recipient Has Provided Key Roles in Developing and Updating the Avian Portion of the Action Plan. This Award Will Build on These Tasks and Document the Presence and Potential Nesting of Willow Flycatcher and Yellow-billed Cuckoo. Hawks Aloft, Inc. WILL:1)CONDUCT Willow Flycatcher (WIFL) Surveys Following U.s. Fish and Wildlife Service Protocol and in Accordance With the Federal Endangered Species Act in the BL-29, BL-30, and BL-31 Sections of the River Mile 163 Project Area in the Middle Rio Grande Bosque Near Los Lunas, New Mexico. Because These Areas Are Within Construction Sites, the Recipient Will Conduct Five Surveys (one During Survey Period 1 and Two Each During Survey Period 2 and Survey Period 3) in All Three SECTIONS.2)CONDUCT Yellow-billed Cuckoo (YBCU) Surveys Following U.s. Fish and Wildlife Service Protocol and in Accordance With the Federal Endangered Species Act in the BL-29, BL-30, and BL-31 Sections of the River Mile 163 Project Area in the Middle Rio Grande Bosque Near Los Lunas, New Mexico. the Recipient Will Conduct Four Surveys (one Each During the First and Third Ybcu Survey Periods and Two During the Second Survey Period) in All Three Sections.
