(ES) Introduces an Energetically Favorable Pfas Destruction Technology, Pfasigator(tm), That Employs a Patented, Award-wining Reaction for On-site Destruction of 99% Pfas, and Cost Effectiveness Along With Good Environmental and Public Health Outcomes. Es Has Field-proven Success of Pairing Pfasigator With a Pfas Concentration Approach Called Foam Fractionation for Concentration and Destruction of Pfas in Contaminated Groundwater. However, This Treatment Train Has Technical and Economical Limitations on Treating Water With Very High Flow Rates, Fluctuating Water Qualities, and Low Concentrations of Pfas. in Contrast, Despite Its Potential for Lingering Pfas Liability and Negative Impact on Environment, Most Entities Challenged With Pfas Still Choose the Traditional Remediation Approach of Using Adsorbent Media to Capture Pfas Given Its Established Technical Economical Reputations, Low Permitting Needs, Simple Operation Maintenance Requirements, and Ability to Scale Up or Down to Address Variable Treatment Capacities and Pfas Concentration Ranges. We Propose a Field-scale Pilot Test to Evaluate the Treatment Train of Combining Our Pfasigator With Dexsorb, a Regenerable Novel Pfas Adsorbent, to Capture and Destruct Pfas in a Contaminated Surface Water Source at Capital Region International Airport, a Non-hub Primary Commercial Service Facility Owned by the Capital Region Airport Authority (CRAA) and Located in Lansing, Michigan. Historic Operations at the Airport Have Contributed to the Presence of Low Concentrations of Pfas in Surface Water on Craa Property. the Pilot Test Will Demonstrate the Ability to Stop the Flow of Pfas-contaminated Surface Water From Craa Property and the Potential to Contaminate Nearby Public Lands and Water Supplies. Dexsorb Filtration Vessels Will Be Installed at the Site Treating the Low-pfas Level Contaminated Surface Water Continuously for Two Months. Then the Dexsorb Adsorbents Will Be Regenerated for Future Use and the High Concentration of Pfas in the Regenerant Solution Will Be Destroyed by Pfasigator. the Success Criteria Are to Treat the Pfas-contaminated Surface Water With an Innovative Treatment Train for the Designed Flow Rate and Duration Meet Michigan Surface Water Quality Standards Be Simple to Operate and Maintain Be Able to Scale Up or Down Mitigate the Need for Pfas Disposal and Be Available at a Cost-effective Price. Upon Project Completion, the Combined Dexsorb and Pfasigator Treatment Train Will Be Proven and Ready for Implementation in Multiple Field Scenarios for Other Water Matrices. This Treatment Train Also Offers a Great Potential for Pfas Cleanup in Drinking Water Supplies That Require Very High-volume Treatment Capacity for Very Low Pfas Concentrations.enspired Solutions Is the Lead Applicant for This Work. Proposed Subcontractors for the Project Are Cyclopure (providing Dexsorb Technology), Triterra (providing Permitting and Surface Water Collection Assistance), and Merit Labs (providing Lab Analysis of Water Samples). the Estimated Length of the Project Including the Final Reporting Is Approximately 12 Months, Which Can Be Completed by July 2026.
