Project Abstractrecipient: Westland Water Districtgrant Number: R24AP00507PROJECT Title: Westland S Lateral Interconnection Projectproject Period:purpose: the Recipient Shall Plan and Design System Optimizations at Lateral 6 of the Districts Water Distribution System, Located in the Northeastern Portion of the Districts Service Boundary. the Project Will Undergo a Planning Phase to Consider Options to Reconfigure Lateral 6 and PP 6-2 or Add an Additional Higher Capacity Pumping Plant to Increase the Flow Opportunity Into the San Luis Canal. the Best Suited Option Will Then Go Into the Design Phase Resulting in 50% and 90% Design Packages.deliverables:planning Phasetask 1: Evaluation of Design Alternatives and Selection of Project Design: Conduct a Preliminary Evaluation of Design Alternatives.-evaluate the Potential of Using the Existing and or New Infrastructure to Improve the Supply Potential and Ability to Reverse Flow Into the San Luis Canal-develop a Decision Matrix to Select the Final Project.-prepare Project Cost Estimates and Development of Project Implementation Plans for Both Alternatives.-research and Summarize Legal and Institutional Requirements for Both Alternatives.-develop a Basis of Design Technical Memorandum.-select the Final Project.design Phasetask 2: Site Topographic Surveying-a Licensed Surveyor Performed a Topographic Survey Within the Project Area. the Survey Included Enough Area, Surface Features, Existing Utilities, and Details to Support Development of the Project Base Map.task 3: Project Base Map Development-perform a Site Visit to Locate Visible Surface Utility Features to Incorporate Into the Base Map and Confirm Their Utility Markings.task 4: Final Engineering Design -develop Two Design Submittals Corresponding to 50%, and 90% Design Level Development. the 50% Design Submittal Will Include Plan View Sheets, District Standard Details, and Technical Specifications. -the 90% Design Submittal Will Include Contract Documents Ready for Bid and Include Plan Sheets, Connection Details, Specifications, and Cost Estimate.
