Sun River Watershed

Award Purpose: the Sun River Watershed Group (SRWG) Works Collaboratively to Protect and Restore the Resources of the Sun River Watershed and Its Communities in Central Montana. SRWG Recently Completed a Master Plan for Muddy Creek (a Major Tributary to the Sun River). This Master Plan Suggests Nature-based Strategies to Restore Natural Processes on Muddy Creek and Describes Anticipated Benefits to Implementation of Those Strategies. Activities to Be Performed: SRWG Will Quantify the Anticipated Benefits Strategies Listed in the Muddy Creek Master Plan That Could Have on Ecological Benefits Including Water Availability, Water Quality, and Habitat. Expected Deliverables or Outcomes: SRWG Could Potentially Extrapolate This Project to Quantify and Prioritize Work Throughout the Sun River Watershed.intended Beneficiaries: Funding for This Project Will Encourage Diverse Stakeholders to Form Local Solutions to Address Their Watershed Management Needs for Watershed Group Development, Restoration Planning, and Watershed Management Project Design.
