Methow Salmon Recovery

Award Purpose: Methow Salmon Recovery Foundation (MSRF) Is a Non-profit Organization and Has Acted as a Project Sponsor for the Bureau of Reclamation (reclamation) in the Methow Sub-basin Since 2004. During That Period, MSRF Has Helped Reclamation Create a Unique Working Community in the Twisp Community. the MSRF Office Functions as a Collaborative Center Where Project Implementers and Community Members Meet Frequently to Identify Restoration Opportunities and Address Landowner Needs and Concerns Related to Habitat Restoration Actions. the Twisp Office Also Provides Office and Meeting Space for the Methow Watershed Action Team, Methow Watershed Council, Methow Beaver Project, Several Irrigation Companies, and for the Reclamation Area Liaison. Activities to Be Performed Include: 1.COORDINATE Basin-wide Identified PROJECTS2.MANAGE Sugar Reach PROJECTS3.MANAGE Lower Methow Reach PROJECT4.POST-PROJECT Performance MONITORING5.WATER Efficiency Irrigator Assistanceexpected Deliverables or Outcomes: This Project Will Allow MSRF to Continue Assisting Reclamation in Developing and Implementing Prioritized Project Actions in the Methow Valley, in Part, to Meet Its Obligations Under the Federal Columbia River Power System Biological Opinion.intended Beneficiaries: MSRF Efforts Will Carry Out the Public Purpose of Managing, Developing, and Monitoring Identified Salmon and Steelhead Habitat Improvement Projects in the Methow Sub-basin. Benefits Include Improved Instream Habitat Complexity, Remove Barriers, Increase Instream Flows, and Upgrade Deficient Irrigation Screens.
