Application Purpose: the Purpose of This Grant Is to Provide Operating Assistance to Mmvta During Their Fy 2024 to Continue the Extended Farebox Warranty to Fund Cabinetry Improvements to the Administrative/transit Center Facility to Fund the Replacement of 12 Diesel Buses With 12 CNG Buses and to Fund the Acquisition of Bus Radios Which Will Link Into an Existing Its to Ensure Mmvta Operates a Safe Well-functioning Reliable and Efficient Public Transportation System at the Optimal Staff and Service Capacity in the Area of Southwestern Pennsylvania Known Locally as the Mid Mon Valley.; Activities Performed: These Funds Will Be Applied to the Following:- Operating Assistance (including Security-related Operating Assistance) to Mmvta During Their Fy 2024 (july 1 2023 Through June 30 2024);- Extended Warranty for Farebox System; - Administrative Facility Improvements (which Includes the Replacement and Repairs of Cabinetry Which Have Passed Useful Life Requirements);- Bus Replacement Project (replacement of 12 Diesel-fueled Buses With 12 Cng-fueled Buses); and- Bus Radio System/its Project.; Expected Outcomes: the Operating Assistance Funds Will Aid in the Daily Operations of Mmvtas Fixed Route System Being Adequately Funded to Provide the Expected Capacity of Service; the Extension of the Farebox Warranty Will Help to Ensure Accurate Collection and Reporting of All Ridership and Fare Collections Data Which Is Used for Accurate Government Reporting; the Replacement And/or Repair of Cabinetry Located Predominantly in the Reception Area of the Administrative Facility/transit Center That Have Surpassed Their Useful Life and Will Help to Keep This Facility in Proper and Safe Working Order; Replace 12 Diesel Buses Which Have Surpassed Their Useful Life With 12 CNG Buses Which Will Provide a More Environmentally Efficient Fleet Will Avoid Costly Repairs to Older Fleet and Will Help to Ensure Non-interrupted Public Transit Services; and Install Bus Radios in All Fixed Route Buses and Service Vehicles Which Are Linked Into the Existing Avl Its Bus Equipment Which Will Allow for Better Tracking Safety of the Public and Employees Privacy and Operations. Currently the Mmvta Is Leasing Older Motorola Radios and This Project Will Provide an Operational Cost Savings.; Intended Beneficiaries: Mmvta Employees and Contractors Mmvtas Assets/facilities Riders of Mmvtas Fixed Routes and Other Individuals and Stakeholders That Benefit From Mmvta Public Transportation Services in This Area of Southwestern Pennsylvania Known Locally as the Mid Mon Valley.; Subrecipient Activities: N/a
