15.945: Cooperative Research and Training Programs - Resources of the National Park Systemprogramming Supports a Comprehensive Network of Cooperative Study Units That Provide Full Geographic and Topical Coverage for Research, Technical Assistance, and Educational Activities Related to the Resources Within Units of the National Park System and Their Larger Regions the Study Units Facilitate Multi-disciplinary Science and Integrated Information Products Across Multiple Geographic Regions of the National Park System.this Project Will Establish Baseline Data on Vegetative Species and Plant Community Composition Within the Davis Bridge Battlefield Unit and the Siege and Battle of Corinth Unit, Which Are Recently Acquired Lands at Shiloh National Military Park. Key Objectives Include Documenting Vegetation Communities, Assessing the Presence and Distribution of Exotic Species, and Identifying Any Federally or Statelisted Species Occurring on the Newly Acquired Lands. the Resulting Vegetation Data Will Support the Development of Detailed Vegetation Maps That Characterize the Plant Communities and Species Present Across the Project Area. This Information Will Support Their Recently Completed Development Concept Plan Which Aims to Increase Recreational and Visitor Opportunities at These New Sites.beneficiaries Include State and Local Governments, Federally Recognized Indian Tribal Governments, Public Private Nonprofit Organizations, Nonprofit Institutions of Higher Education, and the General Public.
