Projects Connect People to the Natural and Cultural Heritage of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Through the Chesapeake Bay Gateways and Watertrails Network and Support Implementation of: Identifying, Conserving, Restoring, and Interpreting Natural, Recreational, Historical, and Cultural Resources Within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Identifying and Utilizing the Collective Resources Sites for Enhancing Public Education of and Access to the Chesapeake Bay Linking Sites With Trails, Tour Roads, Scenic Byways, and Other Connections Developing and Establishing Watertrails Comprising Water Routes and Connections to Sites and Other Land Resources Within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed and Creating a Network of Sites and Watertrails. the Project Goal Is to Establish an Indigenous Environmental Education Center in the Lodge Building at the Cat Point Creek Site of the National Wildlife Refuge Eastern Rivers Division and Bring Together Rappahannock Tribal Citizens and Non-native People for Education and Outdoor Recreation Opportunities. the Tribe Will Hire a General Contractor Through the Tribes Procurement Process to Do Construction Necessary to Bring the Building Into Ada Compliance and Enhance Public Safety. While the Tribe and Architect Oversee the Construction Until Completion, the Tribes Director of River Programs, With Assistance From Director of Environmental Resources and the Refuge Staff, Will Develop Environmental Education Programs. Beneficiaries Include Tribal Citizens and the Public.
