Collaborate With Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks Seki to Identify and Engage Diverse Groups to Perform Cultural Resource Assessments and Collection of Data for the Completion of National Historic Protection Act Nhpa Compliance for Project Work at Seki Seki S Cultural Resources Program Manager Will Identify Areas in Need of Cultural Resources Assessment, Focusing in Particular on Areas Affected by the SQF Complex Fire 2020 and the KNP Complex Fire 2021 Grantee Will Help Coordinate Assessment Efforts, and May Use Subawards to Facilitate Partners Assessment Activities and Build Local Capacity in Cultural Resources Management Information Gained From the Assessments Will Become Part of Seki S Base Information About Park Cultural Resources, Will Inform Seki S and Partners Interpretive and Educational Programs, and May Be Used to Support Cultural Compliance Needed for Post Fire Recovery Activities Particular Attention Will Be Given to Collaborating With Local California Native American Groups, and Incorporating Their Knowledge and Perspectives in Evaluating the Importance of Relevant Cultural Resources and the Effects of Proposed Seki Undertakings Purpose of Award Summary of the Goals and Objectives of the Project Identify Historic and Prehistoric Cultural Resources at Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks Seki , Perform Cultural Resource Assessments and Documentation as Required by the National Historic Preservation Act Nhpa , and Generate Information Needed for Nhpa Compliance for Project Work at Seki This Work Will Include Work by Cultural Resource Professionals and Also Consultation With Affected California Native American Groups Tribes Particular Emphasis Will Be on Cultural Resources in the Areas Burned by the SQF Complex Fire 2020 and the KNP Complex Fire 2021 , and on Projects Needed to Repair Damage From the SQF and KNP Complex Fires Performance Goals Including Milestones and Expected Outcomes These Performance Goals Are Aspirational Over the 5 Year Period of Performance for This Task Agreement Timeline and Success Will Depend on Future Funding Decisions and Other Unknowns Completed Assessments for the 71 Already Recorded Sites Within the Areas Burned by the SQF Complex Fire 2020 and the KNP Complex Fire 2021 Completed National Historic Preservation Act Nhpa Assessments for Unrecorded Sites That Were Found During Firefighting Efforts Completed Survey of Post Fire Project Work Areas for Cultural Resource, Nhpa Assessments for the Cultural Resources That Are Found, and Documentation Needed for Nhpa Compliance Completed Survey for Cultural Resources in Other Areas That Suffered Moderate to High Severity Burn Procedures Developed in Consultation With Tribes for Preventive Measures to Protect Cultural Resources Exposed by the SQF and KNP Fires Agency Understanding and Standard Operating Procedures About Tribal Priorities for Cultural Resource Preservation, Including Methods to Protect and Preserve Culturally Important Resources Other Needed Cultural Resource Survey, Assessment, and Documentation as Identified by Seki and Allowed by Funding and Staffing Beneficiaries This Project Benefits the Public by Accomplishing Tasks and Activities That 1 Improve the Condition of National Park Resources Through Research, Restoration, and Protection of Natural, Cultural and Scenic Resources and 2 Promotes Use and Enjoyment of National Park Resources and Facilities Through Supporting Creation and Delivery of Interpretive Programs and Media and Improvements to Visitor Facilities
