Purpose of Award Summary of the Goals and Objectives of the Project This NPS Park Planning, Facilities and Lands Directorate Will Benefit From Temporary Support From Experienced Professionals for a Variety of Positions to Advise, Research, Mentor, and Assist Staff and Units of the National Park System in Completing Assignments in Support of the Mission Especially as Related to the Program Coordination Required by Recent Infrastructure Funding Summary of Project Specific Activities Individuals With a Senior Level of Expertise in Their Discipline Will Assist the Directorate Through Providing Technical Skills, Knowledge, and Proficiency in the Areas of Realty Management, Transportation, Planning, Budget and Human Capital Enrollees Will Be Expected to Provide Technical Guidance and Assistance With Assigned Projects and Tasks, Supplementing Expertise Where Vacancies Exist and Serve as a Resource on Unique and Complex Project and Program Issues Performance Goals Including Milestones and Expected Outcomes the Experienced Services Program Is Designed to Support and Augment the Capacity of the NPS to Meet Its Mission Goals and Objectives in Areas Where It Lacks Sufficient Expertise, Technical Skills and or Capacity Currently the NPS Has a Significant Deferred Maintenance Backlog and Other Capacity Issues That Are Threatening to Inhibit the Ability of the Service to Adequately Protect and Maintain the Treasured Public Land of the United States of America Additionally, the Responsibilities of the NPS Have Grown Greatly Over the Last Several Decades But the Workforce Has Not Adequately Augmented Its Capacity This Has Led to a Deficit of Technical Expertise and Capacity in Some Critical Program Areas This Program Will Allow the NPS to Quickly Add Temporary Capacity and Support to Our Federal Workers as They Work to Sustain Our Park Operations and Respond to Unexpected Events and Issues That Occur Throughout the System Furthermore, the Service Will Be Better Positioned for Successfully Execute Infrastructure Funding Program Requirements, Enabling Parks to Complete Investment Projects in Service of Resource Protection and Visitor Services and Safety Beneficiaries National Experienced Workforce Solutions
