Purpose of Award Summary of the Goals and Objectives of the Project This Project Will Educate and Train Youth and Volunteer Participants in Historic Preservation Through Hands on Skill Training in Repairing, Rehabilitating, and Stabilizing Historic Structures in Flagstaff Area National Monuments Summary of Project Specific Activities This Project Will Repair and Stabilize the Cliffs Ranger Station, Also Known as Ranger Cabin, to Eliminate Deferred Maintenance Work Will Focus on Repairs to Exclude Rodents and Other Pests From the Building, Repairing Doors and Windows, and Protecting Historic Vegetation From Browsing Animals All Work Will Meet the Secretary of the Interior S Standards and Be Thoroughly Documented Following NPS Protocols Volunteer and Youth Participants Will Be Trained in Both Hands on Treatments and Documentation Methods Performance Goals Including Milestones and Expected Outcomes This Project Will Eliminate Deferred Maintenance Needs at Cliffs Ranger Station Historicorps Provide One Project Supervisor With Expertise and Experience in Applied Preservation and One Crew Leader Historicorps Will Recruit and Select Volunteers and Youth Corps Members to Complete Three Week Long Work Sessions at Flag the NPS Will Provide Project Orientation and Logistical Support the NPS Will Be Responsible for Completing a Detailed Summary Report of Preservation Maintenance Activities Completion of This Project Will Allow Visitors to Safely Access to the Interior of the Furnished Cabin Beneficiaries Private Non Profit Institutions and Organizations Public and Private Non Profit Academic Institutions State and Local Government Agencies Quasi Public Non Profit Institutions and Organizations That Support Youth and Young Adult Career Training and Development, and Education in the Areas of Natural and or Cultural Resource Conservation and Management Individuals Families Students and the General Public Will Receive a Benefit From the Development and Execution of These Programs and Projects
