To Provide Indigenous Youth Organizations With a Place-based Cultural Experience in Their Ancestral Homelands Now Located in NPS Sites. Introduce Native Youth to Careers in the NPS That Allow for Park Management, Authentic Interpretation, Resource Management, and Other NPS Career Paths.create Opportunities for Intergenerational Learning Where Native Youth Travel With and Learn From Their Elders Through Indigenous Connections to Place and History. Summary of Project Specific Activities: Provide Funds to Native Youth Organizations Such as Nonprofit Groups, Schools, or Tribal Government Programs to Cover the Cost of Travel From Their Homes/reservations to an NPS Site.provide Support for the Youth Organizations With Planning and Executing Their Travels by Connecting Them to Park Staff. Give the NPS Staff an Onsite Training Opportunity to Join the Youth Group and Their Elders to Learn a New Perspective of the Park, Its History, and Natural History.performance Goals Including Milestones and Expected Outcomes: Over 1000 Youth Are Anticipated to Participate in the Program Again This Year. Each Trip Taken to a National Park Unit Will Also Include Elder Support and Teaching as the Primary Goal of This Program Is to Bring Native Youth Along With at Least One Elder From Their Tribe to Their Ancestral Lands to Walk in the Places of Their Ancestors, Learn of the Places and Meanings of Their Traditional Homes, Experience a National Park Site and Be Exposed to the Professions in National Parks.
