Application Purpose: This Funding Is for Transportation Demand Management Activities in the Portland Oregon Transportation Planning Area. the Regional Travel Options (RTO) Program Works to Increase Awareness of and Need for Non-sov Travel Options in Support of the Metros 2040 Growth Concept.; Activities Performed: a Variety of Public Engagement and Outreach Programs Aimed at Educating and Encouraging People to Use Transit Bicycling Walking Ridesharing and Telework to Reduce Their Use of Single-occupancy-vehicles. These Program Activities Are Guided by the Regional Transportation Plan and Climate Smart Strategies and Further Defined Through the Rto Program Strategy. ; Expected Outcomes: Rto Investments Are Aimed at a Reduced Number of Automobile Trips Better Access to Non-auto Travel Modes Increased Use of Non-sov Modes and Reduced Greenhouse Gas Emissions. Particular Focus Is Given to Ensuring That Programming Will Support the Travel Needs of Bipoc and Historically Underserved Communities.; Intended Beneficiaries: Rto Investments Are Aimed at a Reduced Number of Automobile Trips Better Access to Non-auto Travel Modes Increased Use of Non-sov Modes and Reduced Greenhouse Gas Emissions. These Programs Are Tailored to Meet a Diverse Set of Travel Needs Specific to Different Groups of People. Activities Include Travel Trip Planning Rideshare Matching Teaching Safe Use of Bicycles Marketing of Transit Passes to Employers Safe Routes to School Education to Students and Parents and Providing Items (lights Reflectors Etc.) to Help People Walk and Bike More Safely.
