Assessing the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape's Capacity to Advance Primary Prevention - the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape (PCAR) Proposes Using Rape Prevention Education: Assessing Coalition Capacity to Advance Primary Prevention Funds to Complete a Primary Prevention Capacity Assessment to 1) Assess the Coalition’s Internal Understanding of Primary Prevention, 2) Identify the Coalition’s Current External Partnerships With Groups Working to Prevent Sexual Violence, 3) Identify the Capacity of Coalition Staff to Assist With Primary Prevention Related Training and Technical Assistance Related to Health Equity, and 4) Identify Community Partners That Have Expertise With Identified Target Populations That Have Been Historically Marginalized Within Pennsylvania Communities and Experience Higher Rates of Sexual Violence. This Will Help Inform Coalition Prevention Staff of Both Internal and External Partnerships That Can Assist With Training and Technical Assistance Requests Received From Partner Rape Crisis Centers. Pcar Recently Completed a Health Equity Assessment With the CDC Rape Prevention Education (RPE) Supplemental Funds. With the Data Collected From Both the Primary Prevention Capacity Assessment and the Health Equity Assessment, Pcar Will Strengthen Current Partnerships With the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (pcadv). Pcar Will Also Create New Partnerships With Groups Already Working With the Coalition Who Are Recognized to Have Expertise With Identified Target Populations. Through These Partnerships, Pcar Will Create Resources Through Partner Recommendations That Will Help Partner Rape Crisis Centers Provide Inclusive and Accessible Prevention Education and Outreach to the Target Populations. These Resources Will Help Centers Plan and Implement Primary Prevention Initiatives Within Their Service Areas That Address the Health Equity Needs of Identified Target Populations.
