Nothing for Us Without Us : Expanding the Reach, Building Partnership Engagement and Cross-community Support for the CDC'S National Communications Plan - With the Launch of the Ending the Hiv Epidemic Initiative Launched Nationally in 2019 We Saw a Push to Ensure Communities That Did Not Have Access to Preventative Measures at Scale; With a Particular Focus on Communities With the Highest Rates of New Diagnosis. However, Less Than a Year Into the Initiative Covid 19 Began to Spread and Within a Few Months We Saw the Same Disparate Impacts on Black, Latinx and Indigiounous Communities Across the United States, With a Particular Emphasis on Those Who Were Already Immune Compromised Such as Individuals Living With Hiv and Those Who Are Considered Priority Populations for Hiv Prevention, Men Who Have Sex With Men, Sex Workers, Intravenous Drug Users, and Transwomen. the Fact That Hiv Is Still an Epidemic Points to the Importance of Having an Understanding for Social Determinants of Health and How Focusing All Efforts on One Sphere Does Not Result in Reduction of Transmission or Mitigation of Harm. Let's Stop Hiv Together Materials Will Be Utilized to Inform Our Communities of Prevention, Testing and Linkage to Care Resources While in a Space of Connection to Ensure That Individuals Have Housing, Food, Clean Water, Employment and Access to a Community in Which They Are a Member in an Effort to Reduce Social Isolation and Depression. Trans Equity Consulting Is a Firm Comprised of 6 Black and Latinx Transgender and Non Binary Individuals With a Combined 20 Years of Experience Working to End Stigma, Uplift Community, and Provide Access to Resources in Real Time to Combat Social Determinants of Health With an Emphasis on Healthcare Access for Black and Latinx Transgender and Queer Communities Across the United States and Latin America. We Are Currently Supporting 15 Organizations in Program Development and Content Dissemination Across 10 Jurisdictions. Trans Equity Consulting Approach to Our Work Is Holistic and Intersectional Recognizing That We Can Not Parse Out One Decision Made by an Individual From the Full Context of Their Life and So We Must Be Providing and Linking to Information, Resources and Assistance Across Multiple Needs. With Covid 19 and the Shift to a Virtual Format We Have Been Able to Expand Our Community Connection Not Just Across Zip Code But to Include Individuals With Disabilities Who May Have Otherwise Been Unable to Attend in Person Events.
