Craig Is 56 Air Miles Northwest of Ketchikan and 220 Air Miles South of Juneau. the Remote Community Has an Estimated Population of 1,208. the Internet Plays a Vital and Increasingly Central Role in How Americans Work, Study, Obtain Healthcare, and Take Part in Our Democracy. Rural Individuals Can Be Disenfranchised by Lack of Affordable Broadband Service. for This Reason Cta Has Partnered With Alaska Power & Telephone (ap&t) to Create an Affordable Broadband Program That Will Provide No-cost, Broadband Serviceand Prevent Disconnection of Existing Broadband Serviceby Using an Ntia Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program Grant (funding Opportunity Number NTIA-ICG-TBCPO-2023-2008098) in Order to Promote the Social and Economic Health and Well-being of Their Tribal Citizens and Native American, Alaska Native And/or Native Hawaiian Community Members. Cta Is Seeking $2,430,181. This Program Will Provide Broadband Education, Awareness, Training, Access, and Support, and Will Focus on Digital Skills and Workforce Capacity in Order to Enable the Work Initiated by the Project to Continue Beyond the Award Period to the Extent Possible.
