Delaware State University Continues to Conduct Agricultural Research and Outreach to Address the Concerns, Needs and Priorities of Growers and Communities of Delaware, Especially Those Underserved, Limited Resource Minority, and Beginning Farmers. the Research Areas, in Collaboration With Extension Focus on the Critical Areas as: -combat Climate Change by Developing Interventions to Help Producers Adopt to a Changing Climate; -equitable, Resilient and Prosperous Agricultural System; -safe and Nutritious Foods; - Sustainable Production Systems for Agriculture. the Growth of the Minority Population, and the Initiative to Attract and Inspire the Youth for Workforce Development Has Generated Interest in Areas Such as Small Ruminants, Aquaculture, Small Fruits, Soil Health, and Intensive Vegetable Production in Protective Culture. the Research on Post-harvest Handling, Food Safety and Nutrition, Implementation of Emerging Technologies in Agriculture, and Continued Collaboration With Extension Will Generate Positive Outcomes and Benefits for All Participants.
