Strengthening Vaccine-preventable Disease Prevention and Response - the Mission of the Division of Immunization at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Is to Minimize or Prevent the Occurrence of Vaccine-preventable Diseases Within the State of Michigan. During the Last 5 Years, Vaccine Uptake, as Measured by Routine Reporting From the State Immunization Information System (iis), Has Decreased Substantially. as a Result, the Incidence of Vaccine-preventable Diseases Has Also Increased. in 2024, Michigan Had the Highest Number of Cases of Both Measles and Pertussis Since 2019. to Address These Challenges the Immunization Team Will Work to Increase Vaccine Access and Reduce Disparities in Vaccination by Maintaining and Increasing Provider Participation in the Vaccines for Children (VFC) and Michigan Adult Vaccine Program (mi-avp). We Will Also Use Established Communication Channels and Partnerships to Promote Confidence and Demand. Mdhhs Will Invest in Partnerships and Work to Rebuild Trust and Strengthen Support for Partners. Finally, We Will Work to Complete Modernization Efforts for Various Data Systems to Enhance Readiness and Respond to Emerging Threats Posed by Vaccine-preventable Diseases. Within the First Six Months of the Funding Opportunity Mdhhs Will Work to Finalize an Evaluation Plan and Submit That Plan to CDC.
