The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Is Providing $300,000.00 in Federal Funding to the State of California Through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Over the Next Three Years. This Funding Will Build the Capacity of the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve, Supported Through a Partnership Between the Ca Department of Parks and Recreation and the Southwest Wetlands Interpretive Association (swia), to Plan for and Implement Habitat Restoration and Conservation Projects Proposed Through Funding Opportunities Connected to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Specifically, Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve Will Use These Funds to Hire External Contracts as Well as Funding for Swia Staff. the Initial Assessment and Scoping Work Will Be Done by Concur, a Consulting Firm Led by DR. Scott Mccreary, Who Was Instrumental in the Establishment of Trnerr Over 40 Years Ago. Trnerr Will Have an Additional Contract for the Development of Communication / Outreach Materials (contractor Not Yet Selected) in Years 2 and 3. Swia Staff Will Include a Restoration Coordinator to Help Implement Findings of the Initial Assessment and Scoping Work, as Well as a Swia Program Manager, Who Oversees the Tijuana Estuary Tidal Restoration Project (TETRP) and Works With Funders, Project Partners, and Contractors on the Planning and Implementation of a Variety of Restoration Projects.
