The "connectivity and Habitat Suitability Restoration in the Downeast Maine Atlantic Salmon Shru" Project Will Restore Access to Designated Critical Habitat for Endangered Atlantic Salmon, a Noaa Species in the Spotlight, Through the Replacement of Undersized Culverts. the Sites Are Located in the Watersheds of the Dennys, Machias, Pleasant, Union, and Narraguagus Rivers in the Downeast Coastal Salmon Habitat Recovery Unit (shru), in the State of Maine. Project Share Will Complete 13 Road/stream Crossing Projects, Which Will Connect Nearly 700 Habitat Units Across the Watersheds. Habitat Suitability Improvements Using Techniques Such as Engineered Log Jams Will Be Conducted in 550 Habitat Units Within Mainstem and Tributary Reaches. in Addition, Feasibility Studies Will Be Conducted to Improve Fish Passage for Atlantic Salmon and Other Sea-run Fish Like Alewife and American Eel to 375 Salmon Habitat Units at the Great Works Dam and Marion Falls Fishway on Cathance STR
