Application Purpose: the Purpose of This Grant Is to Provide the Brockton Area Transit Authority With Funding to Purchase Seven (7) Electric Transit Coaches as Well as Associated Electrical Infrastructure to Replace Diesel Transit Coaches. Bat Is Requesting a Total of $10694736 in Federal Funds to Support the Purchase of 7 Electric Transit Coaches Associated Charging Equipment Technical Advisory Services and Workforce Development/training.; Activities Performed: Once the Grant Is Executed Bat Will Enter Into a Contract for Building and Delivery of the Vehicles. Concurrently Bat Will Procure Technical Advisory Services and Necessary Charging Equipment and Infrastructure Improvements to Support the New Vehicles. Bat Expects to Purchase 5 Replacement Buses via a Consortium Contract in February 2025. Prior to Delivery Bat Will Begin the Planning and Development of Workforce Training and Procure Technical Advisory Services. Bat Anticipates Initiating an Option of the Consortium Contract for 2 Additional Electric Buses for Delivery in December 2026.; Expected Outcomes: Through Bats Zero-emission Fleet Transition Plan a Number of Benefits Have Been Identified. These Include But Not Limited to Reduced Energy Consumption Reduction of Harmful Emissions Reduction of Direct Carbon Emissions Improved Workforce Development and Training. Additionally Through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law the Grant Will Help Support Massachusetts 2022 Clean Energy and Climate Plan for 2050 It Supports the Transit Priorities Programmed Through the States Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) and Locally the City of Brocktons Blueprint Supporting Transit Oriented Developments and Providing Geographic Equity to the Region.; Intended Beneficiaries: the Intended Beneficiaries Will Be Bats Customers and Employees. But Beyond Bats Customers the Entire Region Will Benefit From the Improved Air Quality That Will Gradually Be Attained as the Old Fossil Fuel Fleet Is Replaced With Clean Energy Vehicles.; Subrecipient Activities: None
