Application Purpose: the Southeastern Regional Transit Authority (SRTA) Will Utilize This Award for the Acquisition of Eighteen (18) Hybrid Electric Fixed Route Buses. the Federal Funds Are Being Provided Through the Srtas FY22 5339 Low-no Award With the Matching Funds (20%) Being Provided Through Massdot Rtacap.; Activities Performed: the Acquisition of Eighteen (18) 35-FT Heavy Duty Low-floor Hybrid Electric Fixed Route Buses Will Serve as Replacements for 30-FT Conventional Diesel Fixed Route Buses of Which Have Met or Exceeded Their Useful Life.; Expected Outcomes: This Project Will Improve the State of Good Repair for the Srtas Transit Assets (rolling Stock) in Addition to Providing for Increased Safety and Enhanced Operations While Allowing for Continued Capital Planning Efforts.the Acquisition of Eighteen (18) 35-FT Heavy Duty Low-floor Hybrid Electric Fixed Route Buses Will Serve as Replacements for 30-FT Conventional Diesel Fixed Route Buses of Which Have Met or Exceeded Their Useful Life and If Remained in Active Service Will Continue to Encounter Rising Energy Consumption Increased Maintenance Costs and Be Faced With an Increased Risk of Uncontrollable Major Failures or Breakdowns as a Result of the Additional Wear and Tear.; Intended Beneficiaries: Populace of the Srtas Service Area and Local Area Commuters.; Subrecipient Activities: None.
