Washington County Weed Control in Cooperation With Boise District BLM Will Survey and Treat Noxious Weeds on BLM Lands Within the County. Treatment and Inventory Areas Include Roadside Right of Ways, Unmaintained Roads, Powerline Roads, Fence Lines and Other Known Noxious Weed Sites on Public Lands That Have Been Treated in the Past by the County. Majority of Treatment Sites Are One Acre in Size. Areas Will Be Surveyed by Truck and Atv Utv and Chemically Treated by Professional Applicators Who Are Employed by Washington County Weed Control Using Spray Truck or Atv Utv Sprayers. Inventory and Treatment Sites Will Be Mapped Using Handheld GPS Units and All Data Will Be Shared With the BLM. BLM Approved Herbicides Will Be Used for All Treatments Using Appropriate Timing. Majority of Herbicide Applications Will Be Done in the Spring and Fall With Some in Summer in Response to Public Concerns. Noxious Weed Species Prioritized for Treatment Include Scotch and Canada Thistle, White Top, Perennial Pepperweed, Poison Hemlock, Diffuse, Russian and Spotted Knapweed, Yellow Starthistle, Rush Skeletonweed, Puncturevine, Leafy Spurge, and White Bryony. Inventory and Treatments Will Focus on Idaho Listed Noxious Weeds and New Invaders.approximately 125 Acres of Noxious Weeds Per Year Will Be Treated With Herbicide. Individual Treatments Will Range in Size From a Single Plant to Areas of Five or More Acres. the Majority of Weeds Treated Will Be Less Than 1 Acre in Size, and 5,000 Acres Per Year Will Be Inventoried for Noxious Weeds. This Inventory Will Occur Along County Roads, Unmaintained Roads, Powerline Roads, Fence Lines, Recreational Areas, and Open Range.
