Wasson Forest Invasive Species Control Purpose Is to Suppress Invasive Plant Species to Limit the Production of Seed That Will Contribute to the Onsite Seed Bank and Potentially Spread Onto Adjacent Forest Lands. Primary Species to Be Treated Are Scotch Broom, Himalayan Blackberry, Bull Thistle, and Foxglove. Suppression and Removal of Invasives Will Encourage Native Plant Communities to Establish Within the Project Area, Contributing to Riparian and Upland Habitat Quality, Stream Shading, and Bank Stabilization. Project Intends to Reduce Non-native Plants Along 11.9 Miles of Road Network, Two Acres of Riparian, and 91 Acres of Upland Forest on Privately Managed Forest Land. the Project Area Is Bordered by Oregons Most Recently Designated Wilderness, the Devils Staircase Wilderness Area.
