The Purpose of This Project Is to Manage Invasive and Noxious Weeds on Public BLM Lands in Powder River County, Montana Ventenata, Salt Cedar, Leafy Spurge and Canada Thistle Are the Primary Weeds of Concern However, It Is Imperative to Constantly Inventory for Any New Invasive Species Areas of Greatest Concern Are West Moorehead Road, East Moorehead Road, and Powderville Road Objective 1 Control Invasive Species With Herbicide Use of Herbicide as a Weed Management Tool Supports the Mission by Providing an Effective Means of Quickly Eradicating New Weed Infestations and by Providing Some Residual Control in More Established Infestations Herbicide Will Be Applied Within Approved Label Rates, at Timely Intervals Throughout the Growing Season to Maintain and Kill Selected Weed Infestations Application Records Will Be Filled Out for Each Chemical Application and Mapping of Those Applications Will Be Done via GPS the Goals of This Project Would Be to Keep These Weeds Infestations From Encroaching on Private and State Trust Lands Bordering BLM Sections Objective 2 Reduce Seed Sources and Spread of Noxious Weeds With Biological Control Biological Control Contributes to the Mission by Diversifying Weed Management Techniques for a More Integrated Approach to Weed Control Biological Control Will Continue to Be Utilized in Areas of Larger Infestations to Thin Older, More Established Weed Infestations
