Conservation Legacy CL , a National Nonprofit Conservation Corps Organization Having 501 C 3 Statuswith the Irs, Is Submitting a Proposal to the Bureau of Land Management BLM Colorado State Officein Response to Funding Opportunity L22AS00382 for the Purpose of Securing a Master Crew Cooperative Agreement for Statewide Youth Crew Addressing the Assessment, Inventory, and Monitoring Aim Ofterrestrial, Vegetation, and Aquatic Resources on Public Lands and Advance Best Practices for Engaging Thepublic in This Effort Conservation Legacy Is Requesting 1,200,000 in Estimated Funding for Year One FY22 in a Five Year Period to Place Eight SCC Aim Crews, Consisting of One Leader and Two Members,for an Estimated 192 Weeks of Annual Conservation Projects Assigned by BLM Field Offices Conservation Legacy Plans to Subaward 485,000 to Rocky Mountain Youth Corps, Colorado, to Work With Anadditional Four Colorado BLM Field Offices to Place Six Rmyc Aim Crews Per Year Crew Memberswill Be Recruited From Economically, Physically, or Educationally Disadvantaged Areas Including Tribal Lands, and to the Best Extent Possible From Areas in Proximity to the Assigned Projects Conservation Legacy Will Meet the Required 25 Cost Share Through in Kind and or Cash Contributions on Each Assigned Project Activities Performed Will Be Determined by Assignment From BLM Field Offices in Coordination With Southwest Conservation Corps SCC SCC Has the Experience and Capacity to Complete a Wide Variety of Projects Including Enhancement or Improvement of Recreational Opportunities and Facilities, Monitoringand Assessing Diverse Landscapes for Wildlife Habitat and Forest Health, Habitat Restoration and Wildlifeprotection, Resource Inventories and User Habitat Surveys, and Fuels Reduction in Alignment With Its Mission of Engaging Future Leaders Who Protect, Restore, and Enhance Our Nation S Lands Through Community Based Service, Conservation Legacy Expects This Agreement to Fully Support the BLM S Stated Goals for the Project by Creating Opportunities for Corpsmembers and Crew Leaders to Gain First Hand Experience With Public Land Management While Making Meaningful Contributions Toconservation Efforts in the State of Colorado CL Anticipates That Future Projects Assigned Under This Agreement Will Advance All the Department of Interior S Current Priorities as Well as Important Priorities Established by the Biden Harris Administration Participants, the BLM, Local Communities, and the Public Will Benefit From Projects Secured and Completed Under This Agreement Corps Members and Crew Leaders Will Acquire Technical Skills, Knowledge of Natural Resource Management, and Understanding of Complex Conservation Issues That Will Prepare Them to Be More Engaged Citizens and Stewards of Public Lands the BLM Will Secure Valuable Human and Technical Resources to Advance Its Management Priorities and Potentially Fulfil Future Staffing Needs Thepublic Will Benefit From Improved Recreational Opportunities and Experiences on BLM Lands, While at the Same Time on the Ground Work Completed by Youth, Veterans and Tribal Crews Will Contribute to the Economic and Environmental Vitality of Their Local Communities
