Award Purpose the Purpose of This State Operated Job Corps Demonstration Project With Idaho (idaho Jobcorps Program) Is to: 1) Determine Whether the Idaho Jobcorps Program Is a More Effective Model for Serving At-risk Youth as Compared to the Department of Labor's (DOL) Traditional Job Corps Program Model; and 2) and Determine Whether the Idaho Jobcorps Program Is a More Cost Effective Model as Compared to the U.s. Department of Labor's Traditional Job Corps Program Model. Dol Is Funding This Demonstration Project to Test Strategies Used by the State of Idaho to Improve the Workforce Outcomes of Job Corps Eligible Youth. Activities Performed Fully Preparing Job Corps Eligible Out-of-school, At-risk Youth to Attain a Self-sustaining Career in One of the High Growth, High Demand Occupations/industries. the Idaho Jobcorps Program Will Serve Both Residential and Nonresidential Job Corps Eligible Youth From the State of Idaho. as the Grantee, the Idaho Department of Labor Will Oversee the Implementation and Management of the Idaho Jobcorps Program and Will Provide Some Direct Services. in Addition, the Idaho Department of Labor Will Designate as Sub-grantees Specific State Community Colleges to Serve as Education and Training Providers. Deliverables the Idaho Jobcorps Program Will Serve a Minimum of 750 Students; 600 Non-residential and 150 Residential Students. Intended Beneficiary Job Corps Eligible Out-of-school, at Risk Youth. Subrecipient Activities College of Western Idaho (CWI) and Other Designated Sub-grantees Will Provide Education and Training Services to Idaho Jobcorps Program Students. in Addition, Cwi Will Also Provide Services and Support to Residential Students. the Idaho Department of Labor, Cwi, and Other Designated Sub-grantees Will Deliver to These Job Corps Program Students an Intensive Career Exploration Process That Will Assist Them in Their Selection of the Most Appropriate Career Pathway Leading to Employment in a High-growth Occupation.
