This Grant Will Utilize $3780000 in Fy 2012 Cmaq Funds. Local Share Is Being Provided by Rta Through Rta Tax Revenue. the Interagency Transfer Passenger Information Display (ITPID) Project Will Expand Upon the Cmaq Funded Demonstration Project That the Rta Is Currently Implementing at Four Interagency Transfer Locations (davis Van Buren Joliet and 95TH and Western). Each Transit Agency (cta Metra and Pace) Manages Their Own Service Delivery Including Route Alignments Schedules and Fare Policy as Well as Information Displays and Signage. This Institutional Arrangement Has Resulted in Either the Total Lack of Interagency Information And/or the Display of Passenger Information That Is Often Confusing to the Customer Who Needs to Make an Interagency Transfer to Complete Their Trip.this Project Addresses These Issues by Funding the Construction and Installation of Coordinated Interagency Signage and Information Displays. Specific Products Include: an Integrated Suite of Wayfinding Trail-blazer Signs That Will Assist Passengers in Navigating Between Interagency Boarding Areas; Train Connection Maps That Combine the Cta and Metra Rail Systems and Highlight Where Connections Can Be Made; Bus Connection Maps That Identify All the Bus Services That Radiate From an Interagency Transfer Location; Bus Time Panels; Coordinated Bus Stop Signs; and Local Neighborhood Maps.
