Application Purpose: Dart Will Utilize FY2024 Apportioned 5339 Formula Funds to Purchase Two Replacement Buses Purchase Shop Equipment and Provide Facility Upgrades to Darts Main Customer Hub Dart Central Station.the Medium-duty Buses Being Replaced Are Units 1702 and 1703 and Have Met Their Useful Life. Replacement Units Will Be Light Duty Buses. Vehicle Information Is Listed in the Attached Rolling Stock Report. Funding Will Be at a 85/15% Federal Share/split. the Shop Equipment Will Be an Alignment Machine for the Maintenance Department to Perform Vehicle Alignments In-house Rather Than With a Vendor. This Will Result in Operational Savings. Funding Will Be at a 80/20% Federal Share/split. the Facility Upgrades Is to Upgrade and Update the North and South Revolving Doors at Darts Passenger Hub Dart Central Station. Due to Age and Use the Doors Are Not Reliable and Have Constant Maintenance and Functional Issues. Funding Will Be at a 80/20% Federal Share/split.; Activities Performed: Purchase Shop Equipment - Alignment Machinereplace 2 Medium Duty Buses (1702 1703) Which Are Beyond Their Useful Life and Due for Replacement; the Two Replacement Buses Will Be Light Duty Buses to Better Provide Flexibility for Darts Array of Services; This Will Help Ensure Darts Equipment Stays in a State of Good Repairfacility Upgrades to Dart Central Station - Modify and Update the North and South Revolving Doors Which Will Improve Access and Safetyuseful Life on the Alignment Machine Is 10 Years.useful Life on the Updated Doors at Dart Central Station Will Be 10 Years.; Expected Outcomes: the Projects on This Grant Application Will Have the Following Benefits:better Access to Public Transportation by Replacing Vehicles That Have Met Their Useful Life and Are Due to Come Out of Serviceimproved Access and Safety to Darts Main Customer Hub: Dart Central Stationimproved Condition of the Buses by Lowering Downtime for Maintenance Resulting in Improved Reliability; Intended Beneficiaries: This Grant Will Benefit the Riders of Public Transit in the Greater Des Moines Metropolitan Area and in Polk County.; Subrecipient Activities: There Are No Subrecipients for This Grant.
