Stc-tribal Opioid Response Program-an Expanded Residential Housing Program Focused on Recovery Support Services Utilizing Evidence Based Practices and a Peer Support and Workforce. - the Sierra Tribal Consortium's (STC) Primary Treatment Unit, Also Known as the “turtle Lodge Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Recovery Home”, Is Licensed and Certified by the State of California Department of Health Care Services to Operate a Non-medical Co-ed Adult Residential Alcohol And/or Drug Treatment Program, Including Detoxification. American Indian Alaska Native Individuals Living Here Come From Over 120 Federally Recognized Tribes Nationally and Over 100 California Recognized Tribes; Many More Native Individuals Come From Unrecognized Tribes. the Central San Joaquin Valley Is Home to Six Federally Recognized Tribes; Four of Which Serve on the STC Board of Directors. STC Has Been a Cultural Leader for the Native Community Working to Address Behavioral Health and Substance Use Needs for Those Struggling With Addiction. Ninety-eight-point Five Percent of Clients Are American Indian Alaska Native. the Majority of Clients Are Male (53%); Aged 26 to 39 Years (59%); Have an 11TH Grade Education Level and Less Than $12,000 a Year Income. Although 61% Are Justice Involved, Only 34% Participate Due to a Court Order and 41% Participate Due to “self-interest”. Sadly, Only a Fraction of Those Needing Recovery Support Services for a Variety of Substance Use Disorders Receive It (particularly From a Licensed and Certified Facility); and for the Native Community That Fraction Is Even Smaller. STC Has a 30-PERSON Waiting List and Knows the Importance That Recovery Support Services Plays in Long-term Healing Processes. Services Will Include: O Training Peer Recovery Specialists And/or Recovery Coaches Following California Guidelines and Samhsa’s National Model Standards for Peer Support Certification. O Hiring Peer Recovery Specialists And/or Recovery Coaches, Including Those Working Towards Certification, to Provide Services Such as Recovery Coaching, Telephone Recovery Check-ups, Warmlines, and Other Supports. O Providing Recovery Housing in a Safe and Healthy Environment That Promotes Long-term Recovery and Is Meaningful. Over the Next Five Years, STC Plans to Strengthen Existing Program, Services, Staffing and Outcomes With a Samhsa Tor Funding Investment by Creating Stronger Operational Efficiencies.
