Akiachak Native Community Tribal Opioid Response Program - Project Name: Akiachak Native Community Tribal Opioid Response Program Project Summary: the Akiachak Native Community Will Implement Culturally Informed and Responsive Community and School-based Prevention Education Activities to Raise Awareness About the Dangers of Opioid Use. These Activities Will Teach Community Members and School-age Youth to Recognize Signs of Opioid Use Among Peers and Develop Coping Skills to Abstain From Opioid Use and Misuse. Additionally, Our Program Will Include Harm Reduction Services and Activities to Further Support Our Community. Population(s) to Be Served: Community Members of All Ages Will Benefit From Outreach Services, Prevention Education, and Harm Reduction Support. Individuals With Opioid Use Disorders (OUD) Living in Akiachak Will Receive Comprehensive Support Services Tailored to Their Needs. Strategies/interventions: We Will Provide Opioid Prevention Education and Awareness Using Calricaraq, a Yup'ik-based Wellness Program and Curriculum, Along With Culturally Responsive Opioid Prevention Education for All Ages to Promote Abstinence From Opioid Use and Misuse. Additionally, We Will Offer Limited Harm Reduction Services Within the Community and Assist With Referring Clients in Need of Further Services and Treatment to Appropriate Oud Treatment Programs, Providing Continuity of Care for Our Tribal Members. Goals and Measurable Objectives: Goal 1: Enhance Opioid Prevention Education Objective 1.1: Implement Culturally Informed School-based Prevention Objective 1.2: Expand Community and School-based Education Objective 1.3: Foster Community Engagement Through Quarterly Activities Goal 2: Provide Support and Care Coordination for Clients Receiving Harm Reduction Services Objective 2.1: Maintain and Distribute Harm Reduction Supplies Objective 2.2: Provide Comprehensive Support Services Goal 3: Establish and Maintain a Crisis Response Team Objective 3.1: Strengthen the CRT for Comprehensive Crisis Response Objective 3.2: Provide Ongoing Training for CRT Members Objective 3.3: Equip Staff and CRT With Naloxone Training Number of People to Be Served Annually: Year 1 - 125, Year 2 – 165, Years 3 to 5 – 200 Per Year Throughout Lifetime of Project: 890
