Stockbridge-munsee Health and Wellness Center Opioid Response Project - the Stockbridge-munsee Health and Wellness Center Opioid Response Project Aims to Increase Access to Culturally Appropriate and Evidence-based Treatment Including Medication-assisted Treatment Using Vivitrol, Purchasing and Distributing Narcan, and Continuing Our Smoking Cessation Program. Vivitrol Is an Fda Approved Medication for the Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder (oud). Through the Project, Smhwc Will Organize Three Community Outreach Events or Activities That Aim to Educate the Community on Prevention and Treatment of Opioid Misuse and Addiction, Prevention and Treatment of Nicotine Dependence, and Proper Disposal of Prescription Medications to Prevent Accidental Overdose. the Funds Will Also Provide Naloxone and Naloxone Training Through the Clinic Pharmacy. the Final Component of the Opioid Response Project Is the Continuation of the Smoking Cessation Program. the Smhwc Primarily Serves the Stockbridge-munsee Reservation and the Surrounding Area of Shawano and Menominee Counties. Both Indian and Non-indian Persons May Receive Service at the Facility, Although the Primary Customers Are Stockbridge-munsee and Other Tribal Members. the Base Customer Population Is Stockbridge-munsee Tribal Members and Descendants, Residing on the Stockbridge-munsee Reservation or Surrounding Township of Bartelme and Red Springs and Villages of Bowler and Gresham We Anticipate Our Program Will Serve 25 People Annually and 50 During the Lifetime of the Project. Goals for the Project Include Providing Vivitrol to Clinic Patients in a Sustainable Manner That Does Not Deplete Tribal Funds and Increases Access to Treatment, Increase Community Education on the Risks of Opioid Medications and Tobacco Products and the Treatment Options Available at the Smhwc, Continue to Provide a Location Within the SMC Where Tribal Members May Safely Dispose of Unused Medication, Increase Availability of Naloxone Products and Naloxone Training in the Community, and Increase the Number of Quit Attempts Made by Tobacco Users in This Community, Leading to Less Nicotine-dependent Tribal Members.
